What Makes Redneck Humor Funny?

Posted on Saturday, June 27, 2009 in Humor

Jeff Foxworthy, of You Might Be A Redneck fame, relates a funny story about redneck humor. Upon arriving in New York City to further his career, he was told that he was funny – but he was repeatedly advised to drop the accent. The big audiences, they told him, wouldn’t like him with an accent.

Not only did he turn them down, he turned out to be right. Foxworthy, accent and all, is one of the funniest redneck humorists out there – and is currently the most successful funny man in the country. His albums have sold millions, his shows regularly sell out, he’s had two network television shows, movies, DVDs, and even a Sirius radio network dedicated to his trademark “blue collar humor”.

There are some significant differences between redneck humor and what you’d have to call New York humor, as there should be; both types of humor owe a lot to the cultures from which they came.

Redneck humor tends to poke fun at itself; New York humor tends to make fun of other people, often in an emotionally painful way.

Redneck humor relies as much on that slow, methodical delivery of the punchline as on the punchline itself. Other types of humor generally focus on the punchline or on shocking people.

Redneck humor tends to be gentle and, ultimately, loving. It pokes fun at cousin Curtis, who’s known to be kinda slow but still loved by the family. New York humor doesn’t have a lot of love for anybody. Many times, it doesn’t even like anybody else.

Humor as a Stress Reducer and Energizer

Posted on Friday, June 26, 2009 in Humor

Work is often associated with stress, and we know that stress is one of the main causes of illness, absenteeism, and burnout. Humor is a great stress reliever because it makes us feel good, and we can’t feel good and feel stress simultaneously.  At the moment we experience humor, feelings like depression, anger, and anxiety dissolve.

Humor and, its partner, laughter also reduce stress by activating the physiological systems including the muscular, respiratory, cardiovascular, and skeletal. In fact, we may even lose muscle control, as many of us have, when we laugh so hard that we fall down or wet our pants. Laughter has been labeled a jogging and juggling of the internal organs. When we laugh we feel physically better, and after laughter we feel lighter and more relaxed.

In addition, humor provides a psychological stress reducer as it snaps our thinking to another channel. Norman Cousins called it trainwrecks of the mind. One of the characteristics of humor is that it involves incongruity. We find things humorous when they are incongruous or mismatched. Good jokes guide us down one path only to suddenly track us onto another. The tracking is what we call the punch line. As we are tracked over, our thinking shifts and, in fact, breaking the mind set of the thinking leads to increased creativity.

5 ways and sites to watch anime online the best

Posted on Monday, June 22, 2009 in Animation

Here are 5 ways and 5 sites that can help you watch anime online try some of these tips and enjoy.Trust me the answers is not always going to on the bigger sites lke youtube but remmber you are still going to have to “google it” if these 5 ways and 5 sites or tips dont work but i am going to try and not make that happen.Anyway, here we go.

                                             Five ways

1.first, make sure that you know what anime your looking for,Some people want to jump right into it when they don`t even have a anime to start with.

2.Now, remember that its possible that all of the episodes might not be on that one site,so you need to keep that in the back of your mind.

3 I would look for at least 4 of the episode before you start watching it , Trust me you do not want to watch the first five episodes and then you can not find the 6th episode so then you have to start googling it again that can take hours.

4.if you want the full effect of the anime feel try hooking your computer or laptop to a tv with a cable and get the real feel of it.(works better for people with a laptop)

5.most important find a anime that you like, you would hate to watch a anime online but, you real hate it .need help on finding a good anime
